Jake 9 Months

My little baby is 9 months old! He has grown and changed so much and is so much fun to play with. He loves being around people and is such a happy baby. He is crawling all over the place and likes to hold onto the coffee table and walk around it. He hates it when I leave the room and don't take him with me. He loves to dance ( ok maybe more like bounce) to the music on his toy. He is a curious baby especially when it comes to what the cat is up to. He loves to follow after here and pull her fur. He is currently playing with the door stopper since it's just so much fun! What's the point in buying toys when he plays with anything but the toys? I just took him to the Dr. this week and he was 17 lbs. 6 oz. (10 % still) and 27 1/2 in. tall (50 % still). He's going to walking before we know so I guess I better enjoy the crawling while I can.

Summer, summer, summertime

We haven't done too many exciting things this summer but we're trying! Gary has been working constantly so that doesn't leave much time to do a lot plus is too dang hot outside! i'm just excited for September so it will cool down and we can go to Zion's and go hiking. We went to Greenwich for Gary's family reunion the end of June (over our 5 year anniversary, how romantic!). We had a good time though camping, four wheeling, roasting starburst and just hanging out.

 For the 4th of July we went to Orem to see my family, and to go to my aunt and uncle's house for their annual 4th party. We can see the Stadium of Fire fireworks from their house so we always have a good time. We spent the weekend just seeing family which was great.

 Then this past Saturday for the 24th we went fishing at Baker Dam, well, ok Gary went fishing and i just read. I'm not such a big fan of fishing since i don't really see the point but i don't mind sitting by the water! It was good to spend time together since i feel like we only see each other a little bit on the weekends so it was nice. Gary didn't catch any fish but it was still a good time. We're going to Lake Powell in August and I can't wait for that! woo hoo! It's been way too long since i've been to Lake Powell and I haven't even been swimming this summer so it's definitely time. 

Jake 7 Months

Such a happy baby~ especially in the mornings.

I'm about 3 weeks late on this post but i haven't really been in the mood to blog, but i really need to do better! I guess i can use it as a way of journaling/scrap booking. 

Jake has been so much fun lately and really interacting with people. He loves people (especially the girls). He is a really happy baby and is laughing and smiling a lot of the time. He now has two teeth and is constantly drooling on everything but at least he's not spitting up as much! hallelujah! He is definitely in the stage where he wants to be able to see either me or Gary or he starts crying because he think we left him forever! It sure makes me feel needed and loved though! He loves solid foods and will eat pretty much anything i give him (hopefully that doesn't change when he gets older). He hates sitting in the house for too long, I make it a point to take him somewhere between his naps so he can get his people-watching fix. He loves being able to sit in the front of the cart now and watch everything that goes on. He has a VERY high pitched squeal that really pierces the ear drum. He loves his vitamins that i give him every morning (they must be pretty sweet) and he gets so excited that he flaps his little arms to his sides like a bird, which he does whenever he gets a bottle or food. I just love the little guy! He will definitely be crawling soon and has started to scoot forward a little on his knees but hasn't quite figured it out yet. He loves to stand and will hold onto the couch or coffee table if i stand him up.  He absolutely loves the cat, but of course she's scared of him. Jake laughs at her when she walks by and he loves to pet her and pull her fur (no wonder the cat doesn't like him).

6 Months

First time sitting up on his own! 

This age is so much fun! He is laughing a lot more especially when we play peek-a-boo.

Still only one tooth!

A lot of the time he breaks his way out of the blanket and in the morning or after his nap I find him playing with the tags on the crib bumper or just laying there playing with his binky.  One of the best parts of the day is going in in the morning and seeing him smiling up at me from his crib excited for the day!

He is so happy when i take him outside, so i read a book while he just lays there staring at things. It's adorable!

Stats: Height~ 26 1/4 in. 50%

      Weight~ 14 lbs. 4 oz. 10% (he gained 2 1/2 lbs. woohoo!)

Vegas!

I know what you're thinking, i want a farmers tan like that!

Lunch at the Harley Davidson Cafe (with the worst waitress in the world)

We met Jessica and Jeff, and  Janelle, Jeff and Corbin in Vegas over Memorial Day. It was great to hang out with them of course but it also made me realize how much I hate Vegas. It's dirty, hot, (although not much hotter than St. George), there's porn everywhere and there's not much to do if you don't drink or gamble. We hadn't been in over 2 years so we went to the coke/m&m factory, walked the strip a little and Gary and i saw the lions at the MGM which was actually pretty neat. I was sad that we didn't see the dancing waters at the belagio but it's a little difficult to do everything you want with a six month old and nap times, feedings, bed times etc. We were able to make it to the Hoover Dam for the first time (after about 1 1/2 hrs of traffic and a screaming baby). We took Jake swimming for his first time and i thought he'd like it but the water was too cool for him. if it were bath water temp. he would've loved it! he still looked pretty dang cute in his swimming suit and hat though. 

5 MONTHS

Look at me! I rolled over!

His first taste of  real food! he definitely likes carrots more than rice cereal. He's finally getting the hang of it and not spitting out all of the food.

He is a very happy baby and is constantly smiling and we have finally gotten him to start laughing. He loves to play peek-a-boo!

- Jake got his first tooth last week, it was a tiring night for all of us! I didn't know what was wrong until the next morning when he started chewing on my finger and i felt something sharp!

- He drools all of the time.

-He wants to put everything in mouth.

- He has a really strong grip and is constantly pulling my hair and has started to grab on to my lip and not let go. It hurts!

- He has started rolling over. He gets stuck on his stomach sometimes and doesn't know how to get back on his back but he eventually figures it out. 

-He gets mad if i set him down for too long, he wants to be held! 

-He love bath time! he knows when i start taking his clothes off at night it's bath time and his mood completely changes. 6:00 pm is definitely his fussy time when it's time for bed so bath time is a relief for us. 

-He is mostly likely allergic to our cats so it's time to get rid of them. his poor eyes get red and watery. 

-He no longer likes his car seat. For the most part he hates it!

 Jake has been so much fun lately and is turning into such a cute little boy!
