no longer fluffy the cat

My cats have been driving me crazy with their hair that i find all over the house so i decided to buzz them. we were going to take them to a groomer but they wanted $70 for one cat! ridiculous, i can do it myself. so i bought some clippers and this was the result.

They definitely hated the process so we only got half of it done, we'll have to finish the rest today. they have horrible haircuts but atleast i'm not finding as much hair around the house.

this was a surprise that my cat left me, she killed the poor bird and brought it in the house! sweet huh? there were feathers all over the carpet. i about killed her!

My Poor Rose Bush

My first attempt at pruning a rose bush was not very successful. Though rose bushes are like weeds and you can't really ruin them i think i may over done it. My rose bush was taking over the house, scratching the window everytime the wind blew, so finally i got some pruning shears and took a wack at it. I probably should have read up on how to correctly prune a rose bush but i guess i was too lazy. So this sad looking thing was the result. Oh well, i guess i'll know for next time. Any tips?

Valentines Day~ gotta love it

To kick off our Valentine's Day celebration we went to our ward couples dinner. We've had more fun in this ward since it is so much smaller than our past wards we can get to know people better. we had a good time at the dinner and we even won the newly wed game! they had couples of all ages answer questions about each other and surprise, we won.

To my surprise Gary ordered me beautiful roses! seriously, the ups man came friday afternoon with a box that i knew had to be flowers and i remember thinking who sent me flowers? it could be my mom or maybe my sister since they were shipped from California, i didn't even think of Gary! he always gets me flowers but he usually goes to the grocery store that same day and arranges the flowers himself so i was very happy to get the 18 beautiful roses! what a good husband.

On Valentines Day we went to an art fair at Kayenta, a rich person's retirement community, and it was fun to see all the beautiful photographs, paintings, pottery and other forms of art, none of which we could afford. most of the paintings and photographs were atleast $250 but they were beautiful. for dinner we wanted to go to Olive Garden until we got there at about 5:00 and there was an hour and 15 minute wait, we were hungry. so we decided to go to crackerbarrel and i got some yummy blueberry pancakes. i love that place, no wait! we had a good time though. i was a little glad that the weekend was over when monday came around because then all of the people in town would leave! that is one reason why i don't like living in St. George, everyone else uses it as their weekend getaway and it fills the city to it's max! dang president's day weekend.

My birthday flowers!
On Feb. 12 i turned 24 which i was actually pretty excited about, it sounds so much older than 23! 25 will be even better. my birthday was on a thursday so Gary and i decided to take off work and head to mesquite on wednesday night and stay over. we had a free night stay at a hotel there so we decided to take advantage of it. not that mesquite is far away or really that exciting but it was nice to get away for the day. we had fun hanging out with all of the old people at the stinky casinos, seriously it was FILLED with old people. we ate at the buffet, danced a little to the country music, and we went bowling at the virgin river. we also had a lot of fun playing bingo! we got to use one of those little stamper things (they having vending machines for them in the casinos). of course we didn't win anything, and we left smelling like an ash tray but it was still a good time. we drove home thursday morning and went to look for my birthday present, a new camera. we got a canon powershot 790 IS ELPH. it's way better than our last camera so i'm pretty excited. i also got an ipod with my birthday money from my parents and in-laws. it's my first ipod! i had a creative zen mp3 player which was ok but definitely not as good as the ipod. all in all it was a great birthday!

Sushezi!

Have you ever seen such a thing? I'm sure there are infomercials for it. Gary's friend got this for Christmas because he loves sushi so much. It's called a sushezi and it's a do it yourself Sushi maker! It's basically just a tube of plastic that you put the rice, veggies and whatever else you want in it then you push on the plastic wand thing and it pushes all of the stuff out onto the seaweed. So one friday night Gary's friend and his girl friend came over and we experimented. I hadn't ever tried sushi before this experience and don't know if I ever will again! It's about time!

My younger brother Ryan came home from his mission in Rio de Janeiro Brazil on Tuesday so i drove up to north to see him. it was a lot of fun being with my family and it was exciting getting to see Ryan! i love my family and wish we could get together more often. Wish Robert, Kim and kids could have come, we missed you!

Christmas Time!

Gary and I had a really good time for Christmas at his parents house in Greenwich. We played games, did puzzles, went sledding, four wheeling, shooting, and hung out with family. It was a lot of fun and i'm so lucky to have such great in-laws!

At the St. George Temple, we have to go every year to see the lights, not as great as SLC but it's still pretty.
