Baby Stuff

We're finally starting to get the baby's room together so we picked up our crib over the weekend and Gary got it all set up. My next project is to paint the cabinet that we're using for the dresser/changing table to somewhat match the crib. We got the cabinet for our wedding from the wood shop Gary worked at but it's been at Gary's parents house. Now we finally have a use for it (plus it's free, even better!)

My mom, sister, and sister-in-law threw me a baby shower for family and some ward members which turned out to be really fun. I got some really great presents and it was fun to see everyone! Here are a couple of pictures. My friends are throwing me a shower on Saturday so i'll have some more pictures to come.

Pregnancy Update

I am now 29 weeks pregnant and i have to say i've been pretty spoiled. i didn't have any nausea or morning sickness and have only thrown up once. other than having some pretty terrible headaches the first trimester and really bad fatigue it's been a pretty easy pregnancy. the second trimester was great because i had a lot more energy and no more headaches! i am now in my third trimester and am starting to feel a little worse. not terrible, i still don't have the headaches but i am tired a lot of the time, my back is killing me and he is starting to kick a little harder! i definitely feel pain under my ribs and i feel more out of breath sometimes. i've been very lucky though!

it has kind of hit me that i have about 2 1/2 months left now and i feel like i have so much to do! (plus my mom informed me that she was always at least a week or two early with all of us so if it's true that you kind of do what your mom does then i have less time than i thought!, does anyone know if that actually is true?) i have a couple of showers planned next month so Gary and i registered and Target and Babies r us over the weekend. i t was a lot of fun but it just made me realize the things that i still don't have. which is pretty much everything. all we really have right now is the dresser(which was a cabinet we got from our wedding which i'm going to paint). i found two cribs i really like, one at target (which is back ordered) and one at babies r us which is of course more expensive. so we'll see what happens. we are getting really excited though, and scared, and nervous and a lot of other emotions. i am in nesting mode and i feel like i need to clean and organize everything while i can. only 11 more weeks, crazy!

Stuff

25 Weeks 

The pregnancy has been going well. not too much to complain about but i'm definitely growing a lot faster now which is interesting. i sure don't like not being able to sleep on my stomach anymore! i've realized that i only have 3 months left and i'm starting to get a little freaked out but also excited. 

Talbot Family Reunion- 

The end of July brought another fun reunion with the Talbot family! Most of Gary's eight siblings and their kids and his parents all got together to go camping and to hang out since we don't get to see each other very often. We had a lot of fun four wheeling, fishing, shooting, talking, eating and a lot of other fun things.

Lady Antebellum! it was a really fun concert though it was pretty hot ( it was in july in Stg so what do you expect). I love going to country concerts and we rarely have anyone good come to St. George so i decided to make Gary take me to this one.

It's a ......

BOY! I had my ultrasound yesterday and we were so excited to find out that it's a boy! we both wanted a boy ( though either would have been fine). During the ultra sound our little boy had his legs wide open and the ultrasound tech said he must have been showing off, and that he probably gets that from his daddy, it was pretty funny. His organs and everything look good and he's measuring right on target. Good news! We are very excited and now i can start decorating the nursery!

Fireworks!

St. George on the 4th is not the best because it's so hot but i had to work so we had to stay! I was craving Texas Roadhouse so we went there for dinner and got completely stuffed full, then of course we had to get a snow cone to keep us cool. we went to the Dixie Sunbowl and watched the Country Showdown, kind of like American Idol style, with 8 contestants sining. a few were kinda bad but mostly it was fun to listen to. I was surprised that it wasn't that hot sitting out in the sun, only about 105. they did fireworks at 10 that were pretty good. Maybe not as exciting as the last few 4th of july holidays, but it was pretty fun. 

4 Year Anniversary

For our 4 year anniversary I really wanted to take a trip somewhere before we have a baby and can't go anywhere for a while. i decided on Laguna Beach (Gary just went a long with it) and Los Angeles. Neither of us had been to the beach since 2006 and we missed it! we both love the ocean so it was a lot of fun for us. It was a little chilly mostly in the high 60's and 70's so the water was chilly too. that didn't stop us from getting in though! it was so pretty and there were a lot of cool rock formations. we borrowed a boogie board from my friend and we had a lot of fun.  We stayed there Wednesday and thursday night then drove to Los Angeles Friday morning. We mostly just hung out with Jessica and Jeff. Friday we went to the Grove, kind of a shopping area, and walked around. we saw Sawyer from Lost! i love that show so i was pretty excited, he walked right by me, if only i had my camera handy. we went out to eat a lot and on Friday we went to see Transformers 2, not that great, but it was fun anyway. Saturday Jeff took Gary and I to the Getty museum and we saw some really amazing art. then Jessica had us help her a little with her Primary activity (she's the pres.). it was a fun trip! now i miss the beach again! thank goodness they let us borrow their navigation system because it made the drive much easier.
